The Honourable Finance Minister – Mr. Pranab Mukherjee released a Mazars publication on the important subject matter of Corporate Governance – “Governance Matters” – during the event. In this publication, Mazars has identified and analysed several successful governance practices across the globe, which are pertinent to the current scenario. The publication focuses on how different countries are dealing with their corporate governance problems, while short-listing those practices that are driven by aspects, which are voluntary, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive and equitable. In this publication we also find benchmarks that are being used to develop a culture of values for professional and ethical behaviour on which well functioning markets depend.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Monish Chatrath, Mazars Partner, said “It appears that the Indian corporate sector is now becoming more vocal in its concerns for a change in the moral and ethical framework within which business decisions are taken”.
