Trans-Atlantic Data Transfer Mechanism (EU- US Data Privacy Framework)

The European Commission has recently issued an adequacy decision. EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) is a new data transfer mechanism which will support Trans-Atlantic data transfers. The decision further confirms that the United States provides an adequate level of data protection for personal data transferred from the EU countries.

European entities can now transfer personal data to U.S. companies without the need for additional data protection measures. This marks the third attempt to legitimise trans-Atlantic data transfers, with the previous attempts (Safe Harbor and Privacy Shield) invalidated by the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

Mazars brings along its global knowledge and point of view on the evolving regulatory landscape and has developed its comprehensive privacy framework to tailor solutions for your individual needs.
