About the speaker
Rudi Lang, Partner Mazars LLP, UK, Member of Mazars’ Executive Board & Leader, Global Financial Institutions Group at Mazars
Rudi is a German certified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has a Masters in Economics and Finance Theory from the University of Cologne. He has over 20 years’ experience within the financial services industry, working with Mazars’ largest clients, European regulators and public authorities.
After training with some large professional firms, Rudi joined Mazars in 1997. Rudi is the partner responsible for the delivery of audit and related services to many of Mazars’ financial services clients, including BNP Paribas, Natixis, Dexia, ICBC (London) plc, Sonali Bank and numerous SPVs. He has extensive experience of working on international assignments in Ireland, Germany, France and Afghanistan. Rudi’s experience includes the co-ordination of complex, cross border regulatory projects, large scale projects around European restructuring and special risk management assignments for international banking clients. He has been engaged in Prudential Capital Assessment Reviews and Asset Quality Reviews for a number of European banks and acts as a skilled person for regulators in the UK and across Europe. Rudi is also currently the Monitoring Trustee of some of the most prominent state aid cases in Europe.
Rudi is also currently working on a number of bank restructuring projects and monitoring trustee mandates, including for Lloyds Banking Group and Alpha Bank in Greece on behalf of the European Commission. Fluent in French, English and his native German, Rudi speaks regularly at internal and external seminars and conferences on regulatory and industry matters around the globe.
