Extension of time for holding of AGM for the Financial Year ended on 31 March 2021 - 23 September 2021

Considering the difficulties being faced by the Companies due to COVID-19, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) vide its Office Memorandum dated 23 September 2021 has advised the Registrar of Companies (ROCs) to grant approval for extension of the time period for holding Annual General Meeting (AGM) by 2 months from the due date by which companies are required to conduct their AGMs for the FY ended on 31 March 2021.

Consequent to the aforesaid Office Memorandum issued by the MCA, the ROCs of various states/Union Territories has issued the extension notifications.

Commencement of certain sections of the Employees’ State Insurance Act 1948 in the state of Tripura ‒ 23 September 2021

The Central Government has appointed 1 October 2021, as the date from which the provisions of the following sections of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 shall come into force in all areas of Dhalai, Gomati, North Tripura and Sepahijala district, in the State of Tripura:

  • Sections 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and Sections 45A to 45H of Chapter IV;
  • Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter V; and
  • Sections 74, 75, sub-sections (2) to (4) of section 76, 80, 82 and 83 of Chapter VI.

Commencement of certain sections of the Employees’ State Insurance Act 1948 in the state of Assam ‒ 24 September 2021

The provisions of the following sections of Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948:

  • Chapter IV (except Sections 44 and 45 which have already been brought into force)
  • Chapters V and VI (except sub-section (1) of Section 76 and Sections 77, 78, 79 and 81 which have already been brought into force)

shall come into force w.e.f 1 October 2021 in the entire areas of Baksa, Charaideo, Dima Hasao, Hailakandi, Hojai and Kokrajhar districts in the State of Assam, in addition to the already implemented area in the district.
